Unboxing the Briogeo Strengthening Solutions Kit
I recently received the Briogeo Strengthening Solutions Kit, featuring their popular Don't Despair, Repair line. The kit includes a shampoo, conditioner, strengthening oil, and a deep conditioning mask. I was excited to try it out, especially since Briogeo is a high-end brand known for its luxurious formulas.

Based on viewer suggestions from my Instagram stories, I decided to focus on the shampoo, conditioner (used as a pre-poo), and deep conditioning mask for this wash day. I opted to skip the oil, as my hair isn't currently damaged.

Pre-Poo with the Super Moisture Conditioner
I started by applying the Super Moisture Conditioner as a pre-poo treatment. The conditioner has a creamy consistency and a subtle, not overly strong scent. It provided good slip, making detangling easier.

I let the conditioner sit for around five minutes under a shower cap. While the slip was excellent, I found that the moisturizing effect wasn't as profound as the product name suggests after rinsing.
Shampooing with the Super Moisture Shampoo
Next, I used the Super Moisture Shampoo. It's a pearlescent shampoo with a similar scent to the conditioner. It lathered well and effectively cleansed my hair without stripping it.
However, despite the 'Super Moisture' claim, it didn't leave my hair feeling exceptionally moisturized. It provided a good clean, but the moisturizing effect was less significant than I had anticipated.
Deep Conditioning with the Don't Despair, Repair Mask
The Don't Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask has a thick consistency. Interestingly, it foamed up slightly upon application. The slip was very good, making application and distribution throughout my hair effortless.
I left the mask on for 15 minutes, using a shower cap and some heat for added penetration. After rinsing, my hair felt stronger, with slightly improved elasticity, though not overly moisturized.
Final Thoughts and Overall Impression
Overall, the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair line is a decent reparative system. The shampoo and conditioner effectively cleansed and conditioned, though the moisturizing aspect wasn't as pronounced as advertised.
The deep conditioning mask was the standout product, noticeably improving hair elasticity. While effective for strengthening, it's not a high-moisture treatment. For my hair type and preferences, this line won't replace my current favorites (Olaplex and Mielle Organics), but it's a decent addition for occasional strengthening treatments.
